Memorial Day

Memorial Day is more than just a day off to barbecue with family. Please remember to take a moment and thank those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Thank you to the soldiers that served and continue to serve this Nation. Your willingness to pay that price for this nation has not gone unnoticed.

We have responsibilities, as citizens, to remember our history.  Fear and hatred have divided us.  There is so much more that unites us.  We have a collective history that is both amazing and oftentimes horrible. It is full of struggle and strife.

Through it all, we have persisted.

We continue the struggle today. Our nation is under attack, and we are losing this war.  We have allowed those that would do us harm to divide us.  The very fabric of our nation is at risk.  Republican vs Democrat, science vs faith, conservativism vs liberalism, freedom vs security…these are just a few of the things that we disagree on.  We must find our common denominator again as a nation.  We must recognize that we, as Americans, have the responsibility of working together to defend this country from all threats.  Disagreements will continue, but we must commit to having a respectful dialogue.  The enemies of freedom are fear, hatred and ignorance.

Honor those that gave “the last full measure of devotion” by remembering the ideals for which they sacrificed.

“There is nothing wrong with America that the faith, love of freedom, intelligence, and energy of her citizens can not cure.” – – Dwight David Eisenhower
